Thursdays from 7:15 - 9:30: Starting in June
In this 12-week course, you will explore the theory and practice of web development. The purpose of this course is to be a broad, beginner-friendly introduction to web programming and developer culture. The goal is to de-mystify coding and empower students with the tools they need to continue learning on their own.
You will begin to engage with the hacker praxis and open-source web community so that you can continue to develop programming skills beyond the scope of this brief course. The theoretical side will engage with a number of important texts, and the practical side will focus on cooperative web development practice through hands-on workshops. The majority of the technical training will focus on learning to build pages with HTML/CSS/JS and host them on the web.
Our workshop instructor will hold additional workshop hours. Times and day tbd and by appointment. Attendance to workshop times is strongly recommended.
